Open Source BI – Kromco

Kromco is one of the larger deciduous packing facilities in the Western Cape. We take diverse data silos and integrate them.

All our work at Kromco is done with open source software. The database, all extractions, transformations, and load routines, as well as the front-end to deliver reports to end-users, are all developed in open source software.

After having tried various alternatives, from ‘best-of-breed’ commercial software to other open source alternatives, Kromco’s directors now have access to information that was previously unavailable, delivered through an unbeatable combination of time, cost, quality and scope.

eBucks Rewards Program

Since the inception of FNB’s reward schemes, busii has provided the data integration expertise to implement and modify various rewards engines. We started with fuel rewards in 2010 and played a key role establishing a successful operational Rewards Engine unit for eBucks. The Rewards Engine now processes the Rewards Programmes for all FNB segments.

A key success factor of the project was a full hand-over of the Rewards Engine to the internal eBucks team. Our prime engagement now is to provide a QA capacity including a detailed functional testing service that assists eBucks in reducing the time to market of rewards changes.
